Mike Yacubich, born in Plainview, is a life long resident of Long Island. Mike grew up in Nesconset, graduated from Smithtown High School East in 1985 and moved on to Graduate from Adelphi University with an Accounting Degree.
Mike married his wife Susan in 1991 and they have made their home in Shoreham for the past 18 years. Together they have worked hard to raise their three children Michael, Melissa and Christina who have now either graduated college or are currently attending.
Mike, a third generation Accountant and Business owner, began his professional career working in Manhattan in a variety of Executive positions within the Corporate World. It was in these positions where he gained a wealth of Accounting and Business experience working for well respected leaders in both the Commercial Finance and Retail Industries.
He is currently an Accountant and Financial Advisor working in the families Tax, Accounting and Financial Services practice, which has been family owned and operated for over 50 years. In his capacity as an Accountant and a Financial Advisor he works with Families and Businesses, providing them with sound Financial Guidance, Tax Planning and Preparation as well as Estate Planning services. He works with Families and Businesses of all sizes and income levels helping them to navigate the complex world of Taxes and Personal Financial matters.
In addition to being a successful business professional and helping his wife to raise their family, Mike works hard serving his community in multiple volunteer capacities.
He worked with School Administrators, Staff and fellow Board Members as a member of the Shoreham Wading River School Board and helped the district progress through some difficult times in the school’s history. He helped to stabilize the School District’s Financial position by working with Local Politicians in a successful effort to adjust the School’s State Aid rates. He further worked with School Officials and local residents while the School was going through potential development projects and space concerns.
Mike has been an active volunteer in the Fire Service for over 23 years. He has progressed through the ranks and currently holds the position of Chief in the Rocky Point Fire Department. As one of our Communities First Responders he has helped with the public safety through all types of Medical and Firematic Emergencies.
Mike tries to find as much time to be outdoors as possible so in his spare time he works as a CSA member on an Organic Farm in Jamesport. Once a week he works on the local farm to maintain and harvest various fruits and vegetables. He brings that same passion for the outdoors home where he cares for a couple of beehives in hopes of garnering some local honey.
In whatever task Mike gets involved he has always been dedicated to getting the job done. He looks forward to bringing this same dedication and work ethic to Albany. He believes that his Business knowledge along with his life experience as a Family Man and Community Leader will be an asset to the Local Community and all taxpayers of New York.
